Chiropractic care for pregnant women

Absolutely!

This is one of the best things that can be done for the mother-to-be and the baby-to-be. As a matter of fact, if there is one group of people who need chiropractic spinal check-ups more than any other, it is pregnant women.

Pregnant women are taking more responsibility for their bodies and for their pregnancies than ever before. They are reading more and asking more and better questions. They are eating better, exercising more, and exploring better and healthier ways of taking care of themselves and their developing baby.

Chiropractic care should be considered an essential part of every pregnant woman's health care regimen.  Dr. Nicole also performs the Webster technique which is effective for turniong breech babies!!  It's a non-invasive adjusment, is pain-free and 85% effective.  Dr.  Nicole helped turn two breech babies this year!

During this period of rapid change and development, a mother-to be's center of gravity is changing because of the added physical weight she is carrying around. Her spinal structure becomes more flexible and somewhat less stable due to the production of a hormone called relaxin. Relaxin is produced so that the ligaments of the pelvis can relax and stretch, preparing them for extra stretching during childbirth. In an already unstable spine, this ligament instability can aggravate existing spinal problems and may cause pregnant women to experience low back pain. Chiropractic care can be quite helpful during all stages of pregnancy because of the many physical, chemical, and hormonal changes the woman's body is going through. Besides helping to relieve the discomfort many expectant mothers experience, chiropractic care helps to ensure the pelvis and spine are functioning together as a unit and they are properly balanced. All this helps to normalize nerve system function, an important component of overall good health.

The benefits of proper chiropractic care may also be noticed during delivery. Many chiropractic patients report that their deliveries were faster, easier, and more comfortable than deliveries previous to chiropractic care.

We will take special precautions with you and your developing baby during your pregnancy. Modifications to the adjusting table and the adjusting techniques we use are made during each stage of your pregnancy to ensure your comfort and safety.

Pamper yourself and your baby with regular chiropractic check-ups, before, during, and after your pregnancy. You'll be glad you did.
